Wish list

It's almost Christmas, and then almost my birthday. I have to get my wisdom teeth removed, which is certainly NOT on my wishlist, so here's a few things that are:

-a star projector, maybe shaped like a turtle
-fountain pen, either with exchangeable nibs, or set of pens
-dog
-really bright lime green eyeshadow
-a nice set of make-up brushes
-socks and tights
-scarves
-someone to clean my house
-books with pictures
-moleskin sketchbook
-children’s backpack, big enough for college
-pretty, girly leather gloves. I like the ones at Target.

The Strong Man

I've been feeling rather weird, so I need to catch up on posts. I'll cheat.

Group Project... from hell

Fall/Winter line

I'm so relieved to finally be finished with this project for product development, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. If the workload weren't so steep for me, I'd have enjoyed it more. Thankfully, I had a great group that didn't slack. Not so thankfully, there was a lot of work for the team's designer... me.

Dude, I had to draw 68 flats.

Spring/Summer line

We created a line inspired by old Hollywood glamour. Top is Fall/Winter, "Femme Fatale". Above is Spring/Summer, "Screen Goddess." Below are sections of the inspiration pages.

Resolutions

It's not New Year's yet, but I really need to resolve some things, so it's time for Resolutions.

1. I will blog frequently. I'm going to do every day for a month and hope the habit sticks. I want to be at least a little like the blogs I lose hours reading all the back archives. Here is post one.

2. I will comment. My fear and shyness is getting out of hand. I just want to say HI! I love your painting/coat/article/outlook. No more shyness. If I feel the desire to say something, I'll say it.

3. Something about schedules that I still need to work out. Maybe a work quota for every week or set drawin' time. I'm not good at keeping myself on track and I'm not sure how. How does everyone else do this?

So to celebrate day one of my posting extravaganza, here are pictures of my new hats from my friend Lourdes. Her etsy shop is here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5293300

Yelling at Girls from Cars

My thoughts on the subject: don't do it.

I've walked to school every day this semester, and on average, I've been yelled at about 3 times a day. It ranges from pointless: "Your hair is pink!" to disgusting and creepy and sexual. Just because I'm walking to school. Chill dudes. I'm sure my flat chest, Power Ranger's backpack, and shiny velcro shoes really do it for you, but chill.

Really, I see no need for it. Unless someone's saying, "Watch out for that bus!" (in which case, they'll probably keep their mouths shut.)

stop calling me!

It seems I've been targeted by a telemarketing company, and after looking up their number online, they have a reputation for being pretty vicious. Let's hope this doesn't get too messy...

The first call was about two months ago. I was on the line for a while. She was a fast talker and I wasn't assertive enough to say "No thanks." right away.

Second call was this morning at 10:30-ish. I recognised the initial pitch and got out of there. Calls 3 through 8 happened between then and 7:30. Several while I was napping. *frown*

I answered call 9 and explained to a fellow named Lamar that I'd heard it already and to please take me off the list. I was polite, but I still felt guilty afterward for sounding angry.

My guilt was gone when call 10 came around.

New House!

We've just moved and I'm super excited! It's a little bit closer to school and a lot older(1940's vs 2007), and I love it. Still getting settled in. Can't seem to find my camera, else I'd post pictures.

But what I really need... is a couch!

Birdheads

I can't believe August is next week! That means we need to get packed and moved this weekend, and I am VERY unready.

Before I go, I'll *hopefully* get these girls up in my etsy shop. My birdheads:

Inspiration: Pigeons

baby pigeon lookin good
Originally uploaded by lensjockey
Last weekend I bought Extraordinary Pigeons by Stephen Green-Armytage, and it's great. Full of bizarre looking birds. Ones with giant eyes, long legs, and weird tufts. It has inspired at least one new piece (Mr. Birdpants), which I'll show later.

For now, baby pigeons look like dodos.

The Beginning

I'm beginning anew here. My old posts from Japan have been moved and saved.
I'm saving the bitching and moaning for myspace.
Here will be picspam. (and a few sales pitches)
