Holy cow! It went from happy sunny day to black skies, torrential downpour in the space of two minutes. Possibly thwarting my plan to walk to the store. We'll see if it goes a full 360.

Say hi to my new doggie buddy, Egon. He came from a pretty unhappy life at a puppy mill, so he's still pretty shy. But he's the stumpiest, funniest little dog-face and he's starting to warm up to us.  I'm really into the little guy.

I feel wretched. Sick again, for the second time this February. I wonder if I'll be healthy at all this year.

I also put up prints of a few of my more popular (?) drawings in the shop. When I feel better, maybe I'll take pictures of the cool clothes I've acquired.

Simon says hello

Hooray! We finally had our first good snowfall of this winter. So far the ground hadn't even been covered and I was so scared we wouldn't get a good snow. How could I spend my last school year ever without a snow day?

Thankfully, I was not to be disappointed. Meet Simon:


Ever since I was a kid, snow days were my favorite. Any excuse to not be in school is nice, of course, even if you like school, but snow days are the best. They're warm and cozy and everything looks so bright and clean. I love the clearness of the light coming in the windows. It's really inspiring and I've been busy with projects all day. It's so much easier to buckle down and work when there's snow outside. With necessary snowman breaks, of course.

Tummyache

Well it's nearly midnight and today was wasted. I had such hopes and plans that involved lots and lots of patternwork for my new collection, finishing scarves, and working on drawings. It was breakfast that did me in.

A bad muffin seems to have given me food poisoning and I've been nursing an aching tummy all day. If only I could (sorry) vomit it up, I'd be fine, but my body is refusing. It seems to want to ride out the storm.

Being sick on Sundays is the worst. Now I have another week of school and nothing to show for the weekend.

When I walk to school tomorrow morning, it is going to be 9 degrees. (Windchill -5.) By the time I get to walk home, it will have reached the balmy high of 17 degrees. (Windchill between 3 and 5.)

Thirsty!

Yes, the so-called "holidays" are over, I understand, but stores have already gotten rid of their eggnog and apple cider! They've been replaced by iced tea and orange juice! This is only technically the third week of winter!

I do not understand. It is chilly and I would like to snuggle up in a blanket with a wintry beverage.

Happy New Year!

Hope it's a good one for everyone. I rung it in quite simply, while folding laundry... Then when I realized that midnight had passed, I crawled all over my reluctant boyfriend to obtain my New Year's kiss.

Not a very exciting holiday, but it was happy. (and involved cheesecake.) so I'm looking forward to the new year. Here's to graduating college and doing something silly with my life.
